Introducing Sarah Chellis, our Summer Intern
June 1, 2010

Sarah Chellis, waiting for the policman who pulled her over to let her off the hook while running errands on set for the narrative portion of the film.
Hello Everyone!
Sarah Chellis here. I’m a film student working as an intern for The Adults in the Room, and I have an exciting announcement to make. TAITR will be screening at Frameline San Francisco! I am super excited about it and I hope you are too. The festival runs from June 17 to June 27. You can find out more about Frameline here, and here is our page on their site. Please come and see us in San Francisco cause we would love to see you! If you aren’t near San Francisco, then make your way to the screenings page to check out our other festival screenings and see if there are any near you. Be sure to check back often!
Thanks to all of you who support us, and to the community that makes Portland such a great place to be making movies!
-Sarah
Also, check out director Andy Blubaugh’s videos from some of the festivals we’ve already been to. Here’s one of a Q&A with Andy at the Sarasota Film Festival in Florida and here’s a Q&A at the Ashland Independent Film Festival.

We’ve wrapped! (well, one portion, that is)
September 6, 2009

There’s still much to be done, but we completed an entire week of re-enactment shooting. Enjoy these photos from the set.

It’s been a long week of night shoots, day shoots, good and bad weather, but the most involved and time-consuming part of the making of this film is complete, and The Adults in the Room is getting closer and closer to being done! Be here to read about when it is!

Introducing Teresa Decher
September 4, 2009

It is our pleasure to introduce Teresa Decher, a supremely talented young actress cast as Rachel, Andy’s best friend from high school. An important character in the script, Teresa was a perfect fit for our character profile of Rachel.
Teresa has been involved in many Portland film productions, such as The Waiting List and A/S/L. Most recently, Teresa completed a pilot episode for the new Vicky Vixen web series. Aside from on-camera experience, Teresa continues to develop her skills by regularly attending acting classes.
We found Teresa just in time as she will be relocating to LA at the beginning of September to pursue her acting career. We’re ecstatic to have her be a part of The Adults in the Room.
Learn more about Teresa at her IMDb page.

DAY 3

Seth Allen (as David), Phoebe Owens (producer), and Ryan Findley (as Peter) show off Calvin McCarthy (as Andy).

The almighty grip truck, with grip John Petrina make good use of it to the left.

Shooting a car scene, night for day. Couldn’t ask for a more capable, hardworking crew.
After today, only four shooting days down, two to go!
First two days of narrative photography complete!
August 30, 2009
As of 8pm today, the first two days of shooting the narrative portion of The Adults in the Room are complete. We’re all feeling pretty great about the whole thing. Here are some on-set pictures snapped by producer Erin Donovan from the set on Saturday the 29th.

The primary locations for the first two days of shooting were the Northwest College of Natural Medicine, the interiors of which were meant to pass for young Andy’s school interiors. The second day consisted of shooting the exterior of Knott Street Dermatology, acting as the all-boys school exterior, with a quick skeleton crew shoot at Mt. Tabor Dental to round out the day.

All in all, a very excellent couple of days. Two down, four to go, people! Keep on checking back for more updates and photos.
Listen to Andy at New Oregon Film Night!
August 29, 2009

Earlier this summer, The Adults in the Room director Andy Blubaugh participated in New Oregon Film Night, presented by New Oregon Arts & Letters. He was one of three local artists, along with Arthur Bradford and Alissa Nicole Creamer, selected to discuss their work and creative culture in Oregon as part of the New Oregon Interview Series.
All the discussions take place the last Wednesday of each month at Urban Grind East, near NE 20th Ave. and Sandy Boulevard.

You can listen to Andy speak at this unique event HERE, as well as read a little more about the talks.
Extras needed this weekend!
August 28, 2009
We need MALE EXTRAS between ages 12-20 for a boy’s prep school scene for The Adults in the Room. Extras are needed on Saturday, August 29th and Sunday, August 30th. This is a non-paying position and a non-speaking role. There will be specific wardrobe requirements to reflect uniformity in a prep school setting. Depending on you’re availability, you can be in the film 1 or both days. Those interested please reply ASAP.
Actors, this is a GREAT OPPORTUNITY to get your foot in the door and build your resume/portfolio/reel!
Here are some of the things that you should expect:

+Must self-wardrobe white buttton down collar shirt & khaki pants & backpacks

It is not required but it is preferred that you can commit to both days. Saturday & Sunday 29th-30th. Contact Karen Brioso at kbleaves@yahoo.com for more info.
Thank You is Not Enough
August 27, 2009

There are several things the The Adults in the Room team all can agree on. One: we believe in this film. Two: so do you. Three: as a result, your generosity has made this film possible.
We have put together a page dedicated to the organizations, people and companies that have donated when there was no obligation. They gave to us because they genuinely wanted to extend a helping hand. This kind of generosity has been invaluable to us, and so we want to thank them whole-heartedly.
We’ve put together as page titled “A Community of Support” to acknowledge our wonderful supporters. Please CLICK HERE to visit the page and if you feel so inclined, support the people who’ve kept us afloat when times were tough.
Want to get in on the giving action? It is not too late to support The Adults in the Room! Visit our support page RIGHT HERE and see how you, too, can help! You can also check out the WISH LIST page and see if there are any items you can donate to our shoot!
Once again, thanks for everything.
